A second passport is the ultimate insurance policy for the 21st century. It is about freedom, security, and legacy.

* **Fastest:** Vanuatu (30–60 days)
* **Standard:** Caribbean (3–4 months)

Citizenship by Investment (CBI)

Currently, **Antigua & Barbuda** ($230,000) and **Saint Lucia** ($240,000) are the most affordable options for families and individuals. **Vanuatu** starts at $130,000 for a single applicant, making it the lowest cost entry point globally.

Yes, in approved projects. Countries like **Turkey** ($400k), **St. Kitts** ($400k), and **Grenada** ($270k share) allow you to obtain citizenship by purchasing real estate. You typically must hold the property for 3–5 years, after which you can sell it.

While CBI passports don’t offer visa-free entry to the USA (except Malta via ESTA), **Grenada** and **Turkey** have an **E-2 Visa Treaty** with the USA. Citizens of these countries can apply for a US residency visa by investing in a US business.

Residency (Golden Visa) & Taxes

**Citizenship** is permanent and grants a passport immediately. **Residency** (Golden Visa) gives you the right to live in a country (like Portugal or UAE) but you travel on your current passport. Residency can lead to citizenship after 5–10 years of maintaining the status.

Yes. A Golden Visa from a **Schengen Area** country (Portugal, Spain, Greece, Malta, Hungary) allows you and your family to travel visa-free across all 29 Schengen countries for up to 90 days in any 180-day period.

Generally, **no**, unless you become a tax resident (live there >183 days).
* **Caribbean/Vanuatu:** No global income, wealth, or inheritance tax.
* **Portugal:** The NHR regime (if eligible) offers 10 years of tax breaks.
* **UAE:** 0% personal income tax.
